Three quarters first panel of STUB, ANNIE, and BUG on the bridge of the ship, a little more relaxed. Credits are integrated onto this page.
STUB
So I’m a little concerned as to why
we aren’t fleeing from the whole Alliance of Galaxies
Security Force right now?
ANNIE
Well, among their more helpful qualities are laziness
and incompetence. They generally will not follow you
off of the planet they operate on.
STUB
That’s great news!
ANNIE
They will just call it in to the Interplanetary Division.
Their jurisdiction is pretty much everything that is not a
planet, sun, comet, or giant block of ice. I’d say we have
twenty minutes before we meet up with a fleet.
STUB
Why couldn’t you just say that all at once? Why did
you mislead me to think for a second that we weren’t going to die?
ANNIE (shrugs)
I bring peace where I can.
TERMINAL
Captain Stub, how many people came
aboard in total with you?
STUB
Three people, including myself, computer.
TERMINAL
Oh. Thank you.
There is a long, drawn out silence.
STUB (sighing)
Why did you ask me that, Computer?
TERMINAL
Oh, no reason.
STUB
I’m SURE there was a reason. Why don’t
you tell me what it is.
TERMINAL
Well, I just get this feeling that there is a fourth.
It kinda… seems like there is movement on the other
decks.
STUB
Instead of KINDA looking around and KINDA caring
about the situation, why don’t you do your job and lock
onto him with the sensors I equipped you with.
TERMINAL
Stub, is it that hard to treat me with respect? I mean
I’ve been feeling really rej—
STUB
I am NOT being drawn into this conversation again.
Find the fourth person!
TERMINAL
FINE!
TERMINAL
Woah!
STUB
What?
TERMINAL
That was strange. As soon as I locked onto him
with the sensors, he completely disappeared from
that spot. I’ve probably locked onto him about thirty
times so far and every time he has disappeared.
Camera switches to STATIC who is panting madly, like he is going to die.
STATIC disappears again, and camera switches back to the crew.
TERMINAL
Wow, he’s not on the ship anymore. I checked
outside and he literally transported out into open
space.
Brief panel of STATIC out in space, holding his neck.
STUB
Try to lead him back into the ship
and stop trying to lock onto him.
STATIC is transported back onto the ship.
STUB
FRIEND, WE MEAN YOU—
STATIC (from the other room)
FORTHELOVEOFGOD PLEASE STOP!!!
Long silence.
For this whole scene, Static is in the other room, talking to them.
STATIC
I am a Stava. My name is Static.
ANNIE
Uh oh. The Stava are teleporters and assassins. Some of the
deadliest and stealthiest in the universe. I have
no idea how we saw this guy coming.
STATIC
She is right, about the Stava. I, however, am
not an assassin. I was trained, bread, and engineered
so thoroughly in stealth that I am now incapable of being
looked upon without disappearing. Even the ships
sensors can’t focus on me without making me disappear.
Being so disgusted with this curse, I shunned the way of
the assassin and became an outcast to my people.
STUB
Why are you on my ship?
STATIC
Seemed like a good idea at the time.
STUB
…okaaaay. What are you hoping to accomplish?
STATIC
Oh, it’s only been about two weeks since
all that went down… I haven’t really thought
of anything yet.
TERMINAL
Uh, Mr. Stub
STUB
YES, Computer?
TERMINAL
There are three big ships next to us. They’ve been
trying to get a hold of us for a few minutes now.
STUB
WHYdidn’t you TELL me that right away?
Panel switches to outside of ship where we see three giant ships that dwarf Stub’s ship in a way that three Great Danes dwarf a Chihuahua when they are bearing down on it.
TERMINAL (bubble on outside of ship)
Panel switches back to interior.
I didn’t want to interrupt. You’ve been so
touchy lately.
STUB (sighing)
Put them on the View Screen.
Large Panel of the viewscreen w/ ACE ANDERSON on it.
ACE ANDERSON
Captain Stub, I presume?
STUB
THANK you. Even my own ship doesn’t
refer to me as captain.
ACE
Wow… I wasn’t expecting that response.
That really threw me off of my speech.
ACE
Anyway. By the authority invested in me by the Alliance
of Galaxies Security Force and these three “Star Destroyer”
class battle cruisers under my command, I declare you under
arrest and property of the Alliance of Galaxies.
NOTE FOR FURTHER WRITING:
Ace uses a codeword: “Ace Anderson” and ship fires a concentrated energy beam, but before it fires stub tells the computer defensive pattern theta and the ship throws up a reflective shield. The beam of energy bounces off and carves Ace’s full name in the ship next to his. And the commander of that ship says: “Ace, why does my ship’s forehead say Ace Anderson?”
